Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q.)

Will you design a map for me?

We've been having trouble keeping up with requests, especially since returning to our more busy schedule in the warmer months and towards November and December. As such, we aren't always able to promise new designs in a timely manner.

Feel free to ask, of course, but it might be weeks or months before we can get to your map.

Note: Typically we turn down requests for maps of locations outside of Canada. We still get too many requests for local places for us to consider international locations.

How are your products shipped?

We ship via Canada Post unless otherwise specified. All of our prints ship flat, not rolled. This might cost a little bit extra, but it ensures that the prints won't have a tendency to warp or curl after mounting/framing.

Can I use your maps on my website or for another project?

We typically turn down these kinds of requests, but feel free to ask, particularly if you're from a neighbourhood association.  Please don't use images of our work from this or any other site without permission. As with so many artists, our artwork takes a lot of time and effort to create and it has taken us years to learn how to create it well. It is unfair to artists to use work without their knowledge/permission, and unfair to others who have paid for that privilege.  If something adds value to your project then it is worth compensating the artists who created it, especially if you yourself are profiting directly or indirectly from that use.  

Do you do custom/freelance illustration work?

The short answer: Not often.

If you have a project that we might be right for, feel free to ask. Just know that during our busy months (May-Dec) we find it difficult to keep up with any deadlines.

Do you sell frames?

We do not carry frames, sorry. We're a tiny business (2 people), and we're not able to provide that product/service.

However, all of our prints are created in standard North American frame sizes, so it's easy to find an off-the-shelf frame.

Note: If you're heading to the global chain of Scananavian furniture and meatball stores, we advise checking ahead as they don't carry all standard North American sizes)

Can I return or exchange a print?

We offer returns and exchanges in person only, and the prints must be undamaged and in their original packaging. Unfortunately, postal costs make returns/exchanges by mail very cost-prohibitive and we're too small a business to absorb those.

If you're in Hamilton we can arrange a return at a local shop, otherwise, we've been doing events around the Southern Ontario area. If you can catch up with us at an event we'd be happy to do the return/exchange there.

I found an error! What do I do?

From time to time we make mistakes on our maps. In that case we're happy to ship you a corrected replacement print at no charge.

We don't like making mistakes but we always appreciate it when someone gets in touch to let us know!
